The Breakaway Civilization villains want to limit our choices to Big State or Big Church.

Whatever happened to INDIVIDUAL rights??

Well, when I was a hippie, I raised the International Gesture of Recognition to the State, and did the same thing when I moved to Texas and encountered the Church's dreaded Blue Laws.

Back in the day, Cali was freer than Texas ...

1) No Blue Laws in Cali.
2) No lie detector tests to get a job in Cali.
3) No annual X-ray to work in a health food store in Cali.
4) No life sentence for possession of one marijuana joint in Cali.

Nowadays Yin and Yang are reversing.

But some laws were more lenient in Texas.

I worked with a guy who shot his wife eight times point-blank in the head, and he received a year in prison.

Maybe it was because she survived all eight bullets.

Elvis the Pelvis would have called her a Hard-Headed Woman!

In 1953, when I was a member of the Bergen County Astronomical Society, a "space expert" predicted scientists wouldn't be able to launch a satellite for 50,000 years or have a man on the Moon for 100,000 years.

This "expert" would have called the James Webb Space Telescope a pipe dream.

René Lontie ("Introduction," Copper Proteins and Copper Enzymes: Vol. 1, 2019) wrote ...

"Copper is an essential trace element, although nearly all organisms have access to only very minute amounts. Notable exceptions are bacteria involved in the leaching of copper from low-grade ore and the 'copper flowers' in Central Africa. These species raise an interesting problem, as they have to cope with otherwise toxic amounts of the metal."
