Re: Re: How do you prefer your eggs?

Hard-boiled (but nothing wrong with other ways).

I pour diced garlic, diced pickled onions, Eden mustard, sugar, salt, cayenne, and olive oil over them and gobble them up.

Vibrant Gal likes her eggs soft-boiled.

We both eat two eggs every night of the year with very few exceptions (evacuations and other emergencies).

I knew an old codger in Ranger, Texas. He fried up sausage and/or bacon with eggs almost every morning and reused the grease for years.

He ate buttered cornbread and fried okra and similar Texas-type foods.

He entirely lost his gums but kept all of his teeth.

He lived well into his 90s, outliving all of his children and all of his grandchildren. I knew almost all of them.

He didn't take supplements; he didn't eat fast food.

So much grease vaporized into the air that all of his sheets and pillowcases were a greasy and gummy charcoal gray.

Sleeping overnight in a guest-bed was a challenging experience for me — akin to sleeping on Velcro!

One day his daughter drove in from Fort Worth and was horrified at those sheets and pillowcases.

She purchased new ones and threw the old ones in the trash.

What did our contrarian codger do? He rescued his old greasy and gummy ones from the trash and thrashed the new ones.

The Lust for Life and doing whatever the heck you like is healthier than anything you shovel into your food hole.

It's the Be Here Now and Grok It to the Max attitude.

He lived the Good Life and had a two-seater outhouse.

Re: Wind Turbines Are Destroying the Planet.

I totally agree ... and one of my pet peeves!

Local solar power is more than enough to solve the world's electric power needs, according to an MIT expert quoted in a 1951 issue of Reader's Digest.

One word from the government, according to MIT, and three-quarters of the world could be on Solar by the end of 1952.

We're being played when it comes to solar.

One guy can launch 43,000 satellites spinning around the Earth at thousands of miles per hour all in instantaneous laser contact with each other and locations on the Earth and NASA can launch the 14,300-pound Webb telescope ... yet we can't make an earthbound solar ingot deliver enough power to power every home and business on the planet?

I grew up on Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Tom Corbett, Capt. Video, John Carter, Mike Flint, and Tham Thmith. :) :)
