I found "hippomonstrosesquipedalianism" in a paperback dictionary I still own (after several decades).

I found the word again in a library dictionary but it seems to have never made it to cyberspace.

MANY books are ending up in the dumpster and are NOT on making the transition to the "information superhighway."

I regret the loss of physical libraries and bookstores.

If Fate had let me hold on to all the books, magazines, and newspapers I've bought, I'd need a large second home to store them all.

Somewhere around 2005, I spent over $600 a month on magazines alone at one bookstore in Longview, Texas.

Meanwhile, I bought so many at discount at the local public library and got so many for free from the local college library, I needed to make more than one station wagon load to move them.

We were dreading a third visit by the company that installed our new fridge, but this guy was apparently a subcontractor and an amazing human being.

Right off the bat, he asks, "Do you want me to wear booties?" We said, "Great! Thank you!"

Then he trades out the broken glass in the fridge ... AND helps Vibrant Gal change out the battery in her old laptop.

Then he dramatically HOPS down the stairs (at first I thought he was falling), makes a perfect pivot, and says goodbye.
