I did occasional co-sessions with the curandera on clients both in El Paso and Juarez. Her husband was the man with the “lettuce” trauma I’ve often talked and written about.

I also studied with curandero George Woyames. Last I checked, he was still alive and living in San Francisco. He was a friend of Cesar Chavez, the labor leader and civil rights activist.
