As an Aquarian hippie of the 1960s and 1970s, my closet was stacked with back issues of the The Los Angeles Free Press, The Berkeley Barb, The San Francisco Oracle, etc.

My hippie habitat of 1968 was a Van Nuys apartment furnished with day-glo furniture — painted by my Aquarian buddy Randy MacDonald — with sheets hanging on all the walls. The air conditioner made the walls move to avoid a static environment.

We had plenty of marshmallow fights (with the furniture used as barricades) and illegal chemicals to fuel the action.

When asked, "What's your sign?" I replied, "I'm an Asparagus, a vegetarian hippie."

AI: "President Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was formally terminated on June 30, 1942.
