As an Aquarian hippie of the 1960s and 1970s, my closet was stacked with back issues of the The Los Angeles Free Press, The Berkeley Barb, The San Francisco Oracle, &c.

My hippie habitat of 1968 was a Van Nuys apartment furnished with day-glo furniture (painted by my Aquarian buddy Randy MacDonald) with sheets hanging on all the walls (because the air conditioner made the walls move to avoid a static environment). We had plenty of marshmallow fights (with the furniture used as barricades) and illegal chemicals to fuel the action.

When asked, "What's your sign?" I used to reply, "I'm an Asparagus, a vegetarian hippie."

Gynni Thies sent me this e-mail Feb. 18, 2007 ...

Reminds me of something Adano said to me once in 1980 or so. "I see in advance everyone who is to come through this door. Do you remember Argentina?"

Wow, I thought. Before I met Adano, or even heard of him, there was an Abba song that played frequently on the local radio, this song always made me cry, feeling bereft; often enough that I started paying attention to the words and considering the emotions that it elicited.

The song was "Fernando". The first night I walked into satsang as Tommy Liberto's guest, I saw Adano across two rooms and said: "Fernando!" to myself, instantly Adano turned and looked at me, holding eye-contact and nodding to me.

I have no idea if that song is based in Argentina, but I understood that it none-the-less was the connection. That was May 24, 1977. I never mentioned that event or that song to Adano until the night he asked me if I remembered Argentina.

Wonderfully strange world we live in!

Renee Zellweger was a cheerleader and gymnast at Katy High School.

After moving to Austin, she took a series of waitressing jobs. Kerry, who lives with Greg Whiteley and friends, worked with Renee at one of those jobs.

One night at work, Renee cried and told Kerry, "I'm going to be an actress one day."

Ferdinand Lundberg (Imperial Hearst: A Social Biography, 1936) wrote ...

"The Nation of May 29, 1935, showed that Hearst inspired the formation of armed fascist groups in Los Angeles for use against discontented Californians citizens. These units, the Light Horse Cavalry, the California Esquadrille and the Hollywood Hussars, had been launched and others were in process of formation. They were led by Gary Cooper Victor McLaglen and George Brent, he-men film actors.
Q — What does a tweaked SI joint represent emotionally? Happens when I travel.

A — My initial guess about the S.I. joint was moving trauma tension or conflict (left, male; right, female). Standard psychology links it to libido — a sexual arousal or conflict somatization.

I've changed my "body dowsing" method into the less New Age name of Cornerstone Technique and considerably refined it. I lived next door to a Fort Worth medical library and was there almost every day from 7:30 a.m. till 1:00 a.m. The librarians were kind enough to give me special non-student privileges when they saw what a nerd I was.
